Oncology Massage

Oncology Massage is therapeutic massage with adjustments to position, pressure, and technique that make it safe and effective for people in cancer treatment or with a history of cancer. Everything is considered - chemo, radiation, surgery sites, ports, scar tissue and medications. Massage can also help with chemo induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). Research suggests that massage may reduce stress and pain, and improve the quality of sleep of people with cancer or a history of cancer.

Prior to my move to Minneapolis in early 2022, I lived and worked in Rochester, MN, seeing clients at my office who were patients at the Mayo Clinic. I have vast and diverse experience supporting persons through medical treatment. Nothing scares me or ‘freaks me out’ - hair falling out, no hair, medical devices, scars, incision sites, a long list of medications. If it’s something I haven’t heard of I will ask appropriate questions to make sure you are supported in the best way possible.

My office is described as a place of retreat and zen in the midst of treatment.

“So true (per your website) that it can be really hard to find someone willing to do massage as a cancer patient!! Very grateful to find you.”

“Thank you for caring for those of us with/recovering from cancer. The medical model does a good job at treating cancer, but often misses the mark on healing the whole person.”
